Prequel:
(by Kaļo)
A
new tournament in the ranking I was curious what Dice Day would bring. The
scenario's on the rules set looked great and would brought extra challenges for
the game.

The tables:
All
tables where loaded with scenery. Another challenge for the players of which I
knew several would forget to keep the objectives of the scenario's in mind.
The draw of battles:
(Kaļo)
I was
wishing not to face a Vampire Counts player in the first turn because I knew the
scenario was not ideal to play an army that would keep raising it's losses...
Round 1- Scenario: Control.
Three markers were placed at the middle of the table. One each at 8 inch from
the side and one at the dead centre of the table. As of the second turn you can
earn 100 points if you have an unengaged unit controlling the marker at the end
of your own turn...

Opponent: Thomas Lambeir.
Army:
Vampire Counts.
About
the opponent: Thomas was a player I haven't met before. Nice opponent to
have and certainly one to meet again...
Battle
highlights:
-
Thomas took the 3 markers in his second round although having his
unit skeletons reduced to 6 after the first turn of Empire shooting.
The advantage of having the first turn.
- My
Archlector blew away the skeletons on the central marker and kept it
for the rest of the game being in combat with spirit hosts and grave
guards.
- My
great canon kept firing at his general who kept getting his ward
save.
Most
valuable unit(s):
-
Archlector on War Altar. He took a objective... and kept it.
- One
of the helblasters. He did 24 shots a round until the crew fled in
terror.
- My
mages who were able to control my opponents magic phase.

Round 2 - scenario: Assassination.
Each player begins with 900 victory points. A player looses 400 points if his
lord is killed or if he started the game without a lord. He looses 300 points if
all his heroes are killed and 200 points if all champions are killed. He
receives a 100 victory points if he wins a challenge.

Opponent: Guy Demeyere (Black Border).
Army:
Dark Elves.
About
the opponent: Guy is a nice, calm guy who really enjoys the game. He
doesn't bother if he makes a lesser throw (3 miscasts) or doesn't get
all excited when throwing a real good one...
Battle
highlights:
- An
assassin destroys the war altar with some throwing stars. The
Archlector takes revenge by charging the assassin and killing him in
a challenge.
- A
War Hydra looses 4 wounds from a canon shot. The Outriders take the
last wound in that same round...
- Dark
magic and 3 units of repeater crossbows soften up the imperial
infantery round after round.
- The
Archlector charges the level 4 on dragon and kills the beast using
the Sword of Fate. The level 4 sorceress escapes the pursuing
Archlector, rallies and then blasts him away in a magical way...
Most
valuable unit(s):
- The
Archlector for taking out the assassin and the dragon.
- The
great canon and the outriders for killing one of the hydra's.
